«Zontas»: Hope on TV sets

How can a TV program keep someone company? When it makes the viewer feel warmth. How much more when this warmth is "dressed" with the aroma of Christ, as in the TV program "Zontas."

The 30-minute program, which is broadcast weekly in Greece, Canada, Australia and America, includes a short sermon, a hymn and a personal story of how God changed someone’s life.

"With the show, the gospel gets into people's homes where it couldn't otherwise," explains Greek program manager Panos Karakolidis.

For Panos, his greatest joy is when he visits some of the viewers to share the Good News in person, and sometimes he also responds to material needs.

"With some people we have developed a relationship of years, which has even turned into a friendship. It's wonderful to see that there are people who are looking forward to watching the next episode because it's a source of encouragement, comfort and joy for them."
