The Petalouda (Greek for butterfly) Center 'gave wings' to Timos
The little one found himself at the Petalouda Educational Center at the age of 8, and for 2 years he attended classes through which he learned consistency, perseverance in goals, and especially not to give up when he finds obstacles!
At the end of the 2 years, the efforts to join a school began. It was not easy and, in the end, the only school he was accepted to was 5 km away from home! His parents were hesitant at first, as there were many practical problems, as they did not have a cell phone and could not take him to school or provide the necessary consistency.
So, Petalouda (Greek for butterfly) decided to 'give wings' to little Timos and provide him with everything he needed to 'fly'; that is, to make his dream come true and to be able to climb the steps of… school! Taking on the role of mediator between the school and the family, a member of the Petalouda team officially became the Guardian of Timos regarding his school obligations. Specifically, to this day this person is informed about the educational needs of the child, monitors his performance at school, and undertakes his transfer to and from it.
Despite negativity and social stigma from the school, Timos is standing out as a good student. His teacher is confident that he will do well in the future!
Timos still goes to Petalouda to receive remedial teaching. At the same time, he learns how to study the Word of God, discovering the great truths contained within it. His joy is great and now he has a second family, the Petalouda family!
