Signs of Gratitude
It is no coincidence that Greece is famous for its warm hospitality. For a whole week we experienced many moments where the locals, as a sign of gratitude for the New Testament we gave them, would quickly run into their homes and return to treat us!
With hands that showed their endless hours of work in the fields, they generously offered us sometimes chocolates, handmade sweets or fresh fruit and vegetables from their gardens.
Also, on a number of occasions when we went to a café to buy water or juice, the locals would not let us pay, wanting to thank us for the hope that suddenly knocked on their door one unexpected morning.
