Salehe: "The lessons opened my mind and gave me confidence"

"It's nice to look forward to what new thing you're going to learn today! Farsi and English classes have opened my mind and I’ve gained confidence. It is important for both men and women to study. It is only when you start learning that you understand the value of education and realise that it is for the benefit of all."

Salehe, an Afghan woman and a mother of 3 children, did not know how to read nor write before visiting our Social & Medical Centre "The Good Samaritan". Now she feels she has gained a new strength and whenever she visits us, she says her mood changes and she is much happier than before. In addition to Farsi and English classes, she uses the services of the nursery and laundry, and also participates in the Bible study lessons for women.

It's wonderful, because in the 9 years she has been attending our classes, she has made new friends, and has discovered a new community that she hangs out with outside the Center.

"My desire is to learn many new things and study, but I know that my future is in God's hands," she tells us confidently.
