With these words and a sparkle in her eyes, Sama announces her big new step: her own e-shop with handmade embroidered products! Having secured her own apartment and a business loan with the support of another organization, she is starting her own business.
Sama’s story is a testament to the potential of empowerment. At Rain Lab, we enable women to increase their skills, confidence, and support so they can dare, persist, and create the future they deserve. Sama's greatest success has been integrating into European life here in Greece—a stark contrast to the experience of many refugees who seek opportunities in Northern and Western Europe. Her journey proves that with the right support, building a new life in Greece is possible.

Empowering refugee women
Our ethical fashion brand is part of a social-enterprise business model HM has developed, birthed in 2021. Since 2022 we have supported women seeking refuge in Greece due to war or persecution in their home countries, by offering them employment and a welcoming environment to develop their creativity.
As they gain technical training in sewing, and experience what it's like to work with a Greek company, as well as earning an income, our employees advance professionally and integrate into society. This provides them with financial independence and, most importantly, a sense of pride, self-worth, and dignity.
