An Unexpected Conversation

We were on the Vardousia Mountains in a small village. We had almost finished distributing that day and there were two New Testaments left that were destined for two houses. The road to these last two houses led to a steep mountaintop. Seeing that we didn’t have enough time, but also how inaccessible the area was, I thought: “Oh my God, I wish it was worth it.” Who knew what would follow next!

“Now, I’m ready to leave this earth.”

These were the words of an elderly man who gladly accepted the New Testament we offered him. This man told us that he was almost 100 years old, and yet his age did not stand in the way of him realizing the truth of God’s Word. Our volunteer read him a passage from the Gospel of John.
