Coffee is better when enjoyed in company! This can be confirmed with certainty by the once lonely guys, who hesitantly started coming to the "Anamnisi" café in Chania, Crete, and have now become regulars. If you ask them why they come, their answer is the same: "Because here we feel we belong to a family."

"Do you know how many people feel lonely? How many would like a person to talk to?" explains Nelly Tsartsambalidi, the centre's manager, who, together with her husband Ilias, runs almost every day to meet the material, mental and spiritual needs of the guests.

The week is filled with men’s and women’s Bible studies, gatherings and prayer times. There is also clothing distribution and laundry and shower facilities for Greeks, refugees and immigrants from Syria, Albania, Morocco, Bulgaria and Algeria.

Everyone's favorite day is Sunday. In the morning there is a gathering and at noon whoever wants to bring food brings it so they can all eat together like one big family.

This is how the 50-year-old bachelor Mr. Nondas started coming on Sundays. At first he came reluctantly but as he progressed, he gained a personal relationship with God and now he does not miss the Bible study.

"The world today lacks love and concern. Our prayer is that God will help us to offer them generously to everyone who walks through the door of the center," says Nelly.
