Vision & Mission
In responding to the needs of society and through enabling individuals to actualize their dignity and value, our mission is to cultivate reproducing Christ-dependent relationships in community that invite people to be reconciled to God.
Understanding the brand – the Greek olive branch
Our logo, the Greek olive branch, is rich with symbolism that reflects our mission and values:
Cultivating Christ-centered community
Upwards Sloping Branch: Represents exponential growth, symbolizing Christ-centered communities that bring hope and compassion to society.
Leaves: Unfading and eternal, they signify the undying life we have through Christ.
Olives: The fruits of a Christ-centered community, reaching out to those experiencing suffering and loss.
Marketplace-Training
Education
Healthcare
Relief & Compassion
Colored Olives: Depict the stages of compassion, from meeting basic needs to supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and helping individuals find their place in society.
Overall Symbolism: The olive branch embodies a thriving community of faith and life, responding to societal needs and truly representing the Gospel.
Staying the course
Hellenic Ministries responds through the love of Christ to restore people’s sense of dignity and value. Through the provision of relief, healthcare, education and marketplace training, our mission is to cultivate Christ-centered community. Our founder, Costas Macris, began this work over 40 years ago upon returning to Greece from mission work in the jungles of Irian Jaya. As in the days of the first apostles, people today are hearing the good news and receiving practical help, regardless of nationality, creed or age.
Pain amidst beauty
The Eastern Mediterranean region is a place where worlds continuously collide. Amidst the beauty of this land are immense human needs. Many people here — men, women and children — struggle to make it by. Many have to flee their lands, only to live in poverty, deal with trauma and face uncertain futures. We are heartbroken by this.
