*Darya was one of our students in the Farsi literacy class at the Good Samaritan Center. God gave us many opportunities to spend time with her, to pray and encourage her, and share from the Scriptures.

She opened her heart to Ghazal, one of our staff members. Through times of prayer together, God ministered to her broken heart and started healing her pain. We invited her to the women’s refugee program at Porto Astro, but she had already bought tickets to fly to Belgium during that same week. She managed to change the date of her flight so she could attend, even though she had not seen her daughter for 4 years and she was missing her terribly.

During the program at Porto Astro, *Darya enjoyed the community and fellowship, and was happy to learn new things. One evening she shared that before the refugee women’s event, during one of the Bible study classes at the Good Samaritan, while they were talking about Jesus and explaining the Scriptures, suddenly she saw a strange white light that moved her deeply, and at that moment she knew that whatever we were talking about was the Truth!

She said: “I believed at that moment, but I did not mention it because I was in shock!” *Darya planned to move to Belgium after the event and confess her new-found faith with her daughter. We are so thankful for the work God is doing in her life.
