"I have never received so much love"
You can't always erase bad memories, but you can create new ones—beautiful ones—at places like the "Anamnisi" Outreach Center in Chania, Crete. Most of the migrants and refugees we meet have gone through many hardships, so we help them by having love as our motivation always.
Asadi* from Afghanistan is one of the many people who has received help through our ministry. When he visited "Anamnisi", he was 60 years old, come to Greece with his wife, his three daughters, and a son who was psychologically ill. According to him, the boy had been in a state of shock since a wall collapsed on him during the war. He was still unable to speak and often committed violent outbursts against his sister. Over time we came to know the family and we offered them clothes, help in English and free coffee.
Recently the family left for Europe, but before their departure, Asadi said to us: "Here I have received more love than I have my entire life. Thank you!" Such statements move us deeply and give us the courage to continue to serve these people with even greater passion.
