Petalouda: beehive of activity
The Petalouda ministry ("Butterfly") has begun its autumn activities, allowing children in the Roma community to lift their wings and “fly” as they participate in various programs.
At the beginning of September, the Social Center opened the preschool department for ages 3-5 years. The program includes creative activities, a lot of play, and biblical stories, with a focus on preparing children for entering school in the years to come.
Also, with the opening of schools on September 13, the remedial teaching program began for students of elementary age and above. Our goal is to be next to the children so they can cope with the difficulties they sometimes encounter, and at the same time help them love learning!
Moreover, we are very excited because we are starting a new holistic program with teenage girls. This will include learning activities of various kinds, as well as discussions on topics that concern this new generation.
Finally, meetings for women and mothers will not only continue but will "thicken", increasing from once a month to twice each week. Artistic activities, discussions on burning issues, practical activities such as weaving with a loom, and much more are in this year's program. We love encouraging these ladies!
Happy season everyone!
